Week 5 NCAA College Football Picks:
Key Football Games Predictions Against the Spread
Saturday, September 29th
(4) Florida State Seminoles (4-0) at South Florida Bulls (2-2)
Raymond James Stadium - Tampa, Florida
Although they struggled early, FSU made a compelling case that they are finally back. While their defense struggled through much of the game, FSU's offense impressed viewers. The USF Bulls, on the other hand, are coming off back-to-back losses to Rutgers and Ball State. South Florida won the only previous meeting.
Prediction: FSU 35, USF 17
Saturday, September 29th
Towson Tigers (2-1) at (3) L-S-U Tigers (4-0)
Tiger Stadium - Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Perhaps the biggest shock during last week's action was how much LSU struggled against a mediocre Auburn team. LSU's 12-10 win leaves the team with considerable question marks as the prepare for Florida in week six action. A loss to Championship Subdivision's Towson, however, would be the biggest upset in the history of college football. The score will depend on how long Les Miles leaves the starters in.
Prediction: LSU 45, Towson 16
Saturday, September 29th
(6) South Carolina Gamecocks (4-0) at Kentucky Wildcats (1-3)
Commonwealth Stadium - Lexington, Kentucky
Steve Spurrier's Gamecocks are off to a tremendous start. After throwing an incompletion on his first pass, quarterback Connor Shaw completed his final 20 passes of the day. While Kentucky is an SEC opponent, they young Wildcats lack the developed talent of other SEC teams. Look for Spurrier to keep his starters in longer than is strictly necessary and try to defeat Kentucky by a larger margin than his alma mater, Florida, did last week. South Carolina has won 11 of the last 12 meetings.
Prediction: South Carolina 42, Kentucky 14
