The real story here is that Boise State already has a loss. For a team that always calls for more credibility in the rankings, this isn’t a good way to start. What is supposed to be an offensive juggernaut has been nothing more than a marginal offense at best. QB Joe Southwick is only completing 63% of his passes, and he only has two TDs in two games. His total passing yards is 473. After losing 17-13 at Michigan State, Boise State did bounce back with a 39-12 win over Miami (OH). Will the real Boise State please stand up? BYU is 2-1, but they have only played average opponents. QB Riley Nelson is also putting up subpar numbers with a 60% completion percentage, but he does have five TDs vs. two INTs. The most impressive stat for BYU is that the only give up 55 yards per game on the ground. However, that won’t be enough. Boise State will look to run up the score in this one so they can climb in the rankings.
Prediction: Boise State 35, BYU 27
Boise State are -7 point favorite at Bovada. |
