National Hockey League cancels remaining preseason schedule
The NHL announced Thursday the cancellation of the remainder of the 2012 preseason schedule.
The league had already wiped out preseason games through Sept. 30 due to the absence of a Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The owners locked out the players when the previous CBA expired at 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Sept. 15.
The NHL and its players' union are scheduled to resume bargaining Friday for the first time since the lockout began.
