Week 3 NFL Football Picks: Predictions for Every Game

Week 3 NFL Picks
Predictions for Every Game

Thursday, September 20th
New York Giants (1-1) at Carolina Panthers (1-1)
The Giants passing attack is clicking. They aren't as confident in their ground attack, something the Panthers excel in. This game could produce a lot of points. If Carolina can handle Eli Manning's deep throws, the Panthers will win in a squeaker.

Prediction: New York Giants -2½

Sunday, September 23rd

St. Louis Rams (1-1) at Chicago Bears (1-1)
The Rams are getting it together offensively, although Steven Jackson may be hampered by a groin injury. Chicago looks to bounce back from a shellacking by Green Bay. Grab the points in a tight battle.

Prediction: St. Louis +7

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-1) at Dallas Cowboys (1-1)
The Bucs' secondary was shredded by Eli Manning, so expect Tony Romo to try and duplicate the feat. However, the Cowboys are maddeningly inconsistent. Take the points.

Prediction: Tampa Bay +7½

San Francisco 49ers (2-0) at Minnesota Vikings (1-1)
The NFL's best team shouldn't have much difficulty at Minnesota. Alex Smith gets better week by week. Randy Moss sparkles in a homecoming of sorts. 'Niners by double digits.

Prediction: San Francisco -7

Detroit Lions (1-1) at Tennessee Titans (0-2)

The Lions absence of a running game doomed them in San Francisco. That shouldn't be an issue this week at Tennessee. Titans still waiting on Chris Johnson to earn some of that big contract. Detroit by two TDs.

Prediction: Detroit -4

Cincinnati Bengals (1-1) at Washington Redskins (1-1)
The RGIII Express was derailed by St. Louis, and now the 'Skins have lost two of their best defenders (Orakpo and Karriker). The Bengals are balanced on offense, and should pull out a close one .

Prediction: Cinncinnati +3

New York Jets (1-1) at Miami Dolphins (1-1)
Week 1's offensive explosion forgotten, the Jets were manhandled by Pittsburgh. Sanchez is on thin ice. Miami surprised Oakland, and Reggie Bush is playing his best football. Dolphins by a FG.

Prediction: Miami +2½

Kansas City Chiefs (0-2) at New Orleans Saints (0-2)
The Saints have issues.  Kansas City in a close clash atthe Superdome.

Prediction: Kansas City +8½

Buffalo Bills (1-1) at Cleveland Browns (0-2)

Buffalo and C.J. Spiller are dangerous. Trent Richardson could be the catalyst for a Browns turnaround, but not just yet. The Bills by a TD.

Prediction: Buffalo -3

Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2) at Indianapolis Colts (1-1)
Andrew Luck appears to be in synch with Wayne and Avery, and for the first time in recent memory, Indianapolis wins two in a row, romping over Jacksonville by two TDs.

Prediction: Jacksonville  +3

Philadelphia Eagles (2-0) at Arizona Cardinals (2-0)

The league's luckiest team, Philadelphia, has two 1-point victories. This week in the desert however, the luck runs out as Arizona tops the Eagles by 4.

Prediction: Philadelphia -3

Atlanta Falcons (2-0) at San Diego Chargers (2-0)

Matt Ryan may be the NFL's best QB at this point, and a trip to San Diego won't change that opinion. Philip Rivers is still searching for a consistent deep threat. Falcons by 10.

Prediction: Atlanta +3

Houston Texans (2-0) at Denver Broncos (1-1)
Houston travels to Denver and hopes Manning doesn't channel his 2007 self this week. The Broncos do better than last week; but the Texans still prevail by a TD.

Prediction: Houston -1.5

Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1) at Oakland Raiders (0-2)

Once one of the best rivalries in the league, Pittsburgh-Oakland bears no resemblance to the heydays of the 70s. Oakland is still looking for an identity post-Al Davis. Take the points in a close battle.

Prediction: Oakland +3½

New England Patriots (1-1) at Baltimore Ravens (1-1)

One of the week's best matchups is Baltimore-New England. Both are coming off tough losses and will be eager to reassert themselves. Look for the Ravens TO play tough at home, but the Pats keep this close

Prediction: New England +3

Monday, September 24th

Green Bay Packers (1-1) at Seattle Seahawks (1-1)
Seattle welcomes Green Bay, and if Russell Wilson can elude Clay Matthews, the Seahawks could pull off another shocker. Aaron Rodgers may have something to say about that. Packers by 3 points.

Prediction: Green Bay -3
