College Football Predictions: Week 6

Predictions of a few college football top teams in action this week
against the spread and College football odds.

Saturday, October 06, 2012

(4) L-S-U Tigers (5-0) at (10) Florida Gators (4-0)
Ben Hill Griffin Stadium - Gainesville, Florida

Without losing a game, LSU has dropped in the rankings due to lackluster performances against Auburn and Towson. Florida, on the other hand, has quickly risen to the top 10. This SEC showdown will reveal quite a bit about both teams as neither has truly been tested yet. While Florida would undoubtedly prefer that this game be played at night, the Swamp should be as hostile as ever.
Prediction: Florida 17, LSU 10

(5) Georgia Bulldogs (5-0) at (6) South Carolina Gamecocks (5-0)
Williams-Brice Stadium - Columbia, South Carolina

Georgia's defense struggled at times against Tennessee last week. In contract, South Carolina's offense took some time to get moving against a weak Kentucky team. This game will go a long way to determining who will represent the SEC East in the title game and has strong national title implications. Georgia, despite its struggles last week, has been more disciplined so far, but expect a close game.
Prediction: Georgia 31, South Carolina 24

(21) Nebraska Cornhuskers (4-1) at (12) Ohio State Buckeyes (5-0)
Ohio Stadium - Columbus, Ohio

Big Ten newcomer Nebraska hopes to shake things up against the Buckeyes, and Ohio State has done little to impress despite being 5-0. This game will likely remain close through at least three quarters, but Ohio State has proven to respond well when challenged. While an upset is certainly possible, Braxton Miller will make just enough plays to pull out the win.
Prediction: Ohio State 45, Nebraska 35

(23) Washington Huskies (3-1) at (2) Oregon Ducks (5-0)
Autzen Stadium - Eugene, Oregon

Washington's win last week against Stanford has catapulted them back in the top 25, but their 38-point loss to LSU in week two still looms large. Oregon is up to number two in the rankings and will remain there after this game.
Prediction: Oregon 45, Washington 21
